Geostory App
Hybrid Mobile App (Experimental Project)
The goal of the course “Artistic-Political Experiment” was the group-based development of concepts that incorporate (urban) space in an artistic and playful way, while considering the concept of politics. Another part of the assignment was the prototypical implementation of the developed idea and the associated assessment of the project’s feasibility. Based on the seminar description, our group came up with the idea that it might be possible to foster a more intensive engagement with the concept of (urban) space through a mobile application. Based on this idea, the mobile app named “Geostory” was created. The goal of “Geostory” is to convey information about the user’s surroundings in a playful way. Furthermore, users are encouraged to connect with their fellow players or people in their vicinity. This is achieved through personal stories that app users can discover and relive at the locations where the stories took place using the application. These stories can be heard as audio commentary within the app and read in written form.
